About Me

In June of 2011, I will begin my 27 month long journey in the Peace Corps.  I will be serving in Swaziland as an HIV and Health Educator.  Swaziland is a small country in southern Africa, completely landlocked by South Africa on the north, west, and south; and Mozambique on the east.  Swaziland has been severely affected by HIV/AIDS, as it has the highest HIV rate and the lowest life expectancy in the world.

I grew up in Syracuse, NY with my twin sister and older brother. I was very active in sports as a kid, playing soccer and competing in track and field through high school.  I continued to compete in track and field in college where I hold two school records, in the discus and hammer throws.  I attended Buffalo State College and graduated magna cum laude in 2010 with my Bachelor Degree in Business Administration and minors in Business Economics and Coaching.

In my free time, I love to watch tv and being a couch potato, but who doesn't?  I am addicted to facebook and google.  I like to watch movies, but I can  never remember the name of the movie, characters, or actors.  And remembering movie quotes is out of the question.  I am more of a conceptual person.

I can solve Rubik's cubes.  I like to knit.  My favorite food is peanut butter (JIF). I love homemade chocolate chip cookies and Dove chocolate.  My favorite color is purple.  My favorite game is solitaire.  And my favorite holiday is my birthday, December 10!
